As a full-service event company, Studio Dan Meiners has an amazing team of professionals that all work together on each and every event we produce. From event design and coordination to floral and decor installation, our team works diligently to make sure your entire experience is nothing short of amazing.
Dan has always been passionate about design that developed his foundation for a lifetime of creative work. Starting with his first retail venture in 1993 and quickly blossoming into a successful floral and design consulting business, he is a true innovator in the world of flowers and events that lead to the development of what is now known as Studio Dan Meiners. Working with premier vendors, consultants and venues, Dan strives for the best with each and every event he produces using a chic and elegant modern style. He has a true gift for building partnerships with others in the community and works with many charitable organizations. When he is not busy with client events, Dan loves to travel and enjoys the night life as a way to stay inspired and keep his design skills sharp. He shares a home in Kansas City with his partner, David Brinkerhoff.
As our Financial Administrator, Colleen is responsible for handling all the money for the company. Along with counting the cash and paying the bills, she is the contact for our wedding clients to ensure all floral & décor are perfect for their big day. When she is not working at the studio, she can be found working at home with her husband on their jewelry & pottery business or relaxing with her dog, Buttons.
Operations & Corporate Sales Manager
Rory wears many hats at SDM. She is the operations and HR manager. She also works with corporate clients, oversees all holiday decorating and runs our lounge furniture department. With 15 plus years in event management she has seen it all and is great at multi-tasking. On her days off she is a busy Mom to an active and precocious little girl.
Event Space Manager
Sophie is the Sales & Event Manager for Pennway Place, our 8,000 square foot event space. She spends her days working with clients to ensure that their event goes smoothly during both the planning process and day of execution. During her free time she enjoys studying interior design and playing with her lab puppy.
Logistics & Procurement
Attention to detail is what Kyle focuses on daily. He coordinates our event timelines, purchasing and design execution. A Kansas City native, Kyle enjoys traveling, art and cooking with his partner.
Tony is the friendly face that almost all of our customers see, as he ensures the on-time and safe delivery of our daily floral arrangements. Tony has been our driver since 2012, but in his free time he likes to get out from behind the wheel and enjoys sports, being outdoors, movies or reading a good book.
Lead Floral Designer
Justin has 25 years of experience, 13 of them at Studio Dan Meiners. He ensures each personal order and event floral is uniquely designed with attention to every detail. He also makes sure our coolers are stocked with flowers from around the world and of the finest quality. In his free time, he enjoys landscape design, camping and hanging out with his Miniature Pinscher, Zeus.
Custom Builder & Fabricator
Josh runs the fabrication shop at Studio Dan Meiners and is responsible for turning ideas into reality. With a background in scenic design and commercial fabrication, he enthusiastically embraces each new project.
Maria oversees our production and installation and makes sure our decor and rentals are in tip top shape before they head out to an event. Originally from Brazil, Maria is fluent in Portugeuese, Spanish and English. She is also a dog lover but is partial to her Dachshund (or as she refers to her, a “sausage” dog.)
Fabric and Installations
Shelby runs the Fabric and Installations Department at Studio Dan Meiners. With a Master in Fine Arts from the University of Kansas, Shelby specializes in creating installations and event experiences that create moments of whimsy and entice the five senses. Shelby loves designing unique spaces and utilizes a large repertoire of textiles to fit any theme or style of event.
Brooke is responsible for designing and printing graphics for weddings and events. Possibilities are endless as she can design large scale graphics for stage back drops, custom bar graphics, escort boards or smaller scale graphics such as table numbers, menus, custom napkin rings, etc. that can add the perfect touch of detail to your wedding or event. Outside of SDM, Brooke enjoys quaint coffee shops, gardening, traveling and road tripping with her adventurous 8 year old son and their high spirited husky, White Fang.
The Production Team at Studio Dan Meiners are responsible for making weddings and events come to life. They make sure that each client’s vision is perfectly executed. Their days are long and busy and many times the work late into the night or early morning. They are truly the backbone at Studio Dan Meiners.
The Floral Team at Studio Dan Meiners approach floral design with true artistic vision. Our team has the ability to create arrangements in a variety of styles. With a team of six we are able to match our client with the designer that can best match their style. Josh has a flair for Garden arrangements, Lori likes modern styles, Mary keeps it traditional, Erin is a master at bouquets, Justin likes to keep it modern and trendy and our newest member Gina fresh out of design school is great at architectural pieces. They all work together seamlessly and play on each other’s strengths.
